The HomeShareSLO Advantage

HomeShareSLO conducts background screening of all home seekers and home providers

We understand that security is your first concern when contemplating sharing your home. This factor alone prevents many seniors or others living alone from starting the process of home sharing. Our mission is to help Home Providers earn some income from their under-utilized room, and to help Seekers find affordable housing. We start by pre-screening applicants with the following rigorous background inquiries. We'll select possible matching candidates only from our pool of qualified and pre-screened home seekers. A HomeShareSLO staffer or volunteer will also sit in on your first in-person meeting, if you wish, and help get the conversation started. We recommend a neutral meeting place, such as a coffee shop.

Criminal History 

Violent, non-violent, fraud, elder abuse crimes

Any criminal history is grounds for disqualification
